Professional Biography

After completing his training at Mayo Clinic in 1979, Dr. R. Kurt Lofgren returned to Salinas, California, his home town, to practice with his father, Robert C. Lofgren, M.D., until the elder Dr. Lofgren retired. Dr. R. Kurt Lofgren is now in solo private practice.

For several years, he was on the faculty at Stanford University School of Medicine. Dr. Lofgren has also been President of the Monterey County Medical Society in 1989, Chief of Staff of Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital in 1992, and a California Medical Association delegate since 1990 (formerly Chair of the District VII delegation).

Dr. Lofgren now has his own private practice and does routine dermatologic surgery, collagen, and sclerotherapy. He has a pulsed dye laser and uses it daily for facial spider veins, rosacea, scars, stretch marks, acne, psoriasis, wrinkles and warts. He also has PUVA and Narrow Band UVB available for psoriasis treatment—the latest ultraviolet psoriasis treatment technology.

Medical records have been computerized for seven years, including digital photographs for the past year.
